Shelley Quigley, Owner of Roam Coffee House

How long have you lived in Spokane?

I was born in Spokane, grew up in Harrington, attended Whitworth, moved to Baltimore for 3 years, back to Spokane for 3 years and have been in Medical Lake since 2017.

What do you like best about Spokane?

I love the people of Spokane and the way we have been improving and innovating throughout my lifetime.

Tell us about the local business you founded.

Roam Coffee Roasters was founded in 2019 out of a love of coffee and a desire to be farmers (5th generation wheat farmers) supporting farmers (those that work to grow the coffee that ends up in our cups). We loved working out of our renovated 1940’s farm building, and when the opportunity arose to open a Coffee House in Medical Lake, it felt like the right time and space to add People loving People to our vision.

We want to create and serve artisan coffee to the Inland Northwest while also providing learning opportunities. We host private tours, tastings and a variety of classes, including “Roast Your Own Coffee” classes at the roastery on the farm.

How can we as a community can support Roam Coffee?

We love seeing smiling faces in the Coffee House and at the roastery. The biggest support is telling your friends about us. Roam Coffee House at 107 E Lake St in Medical Lake is our first retail location. We want to help people learn about us so that we can share some delicious coffee and our heart for adventure with everyone that walks through the door.

We also sell our coffee on our website at https://roamroasters.coffee/ and have a subscription option that makes sure you never run out of your favorite brew.
